The Sistahs of Urban Literature (S.O.U.L.) was created/founded by Karen M. Bowman, January 2009 in Winston-Salem, NC.  Members came and left and a revitalization of S.O.U.L. begin once Lashanda O. Hanna joined the organization in the summer of 2009.  Our goal is to get women together to fellowship and discuss a good book.  We all have a passion for reading and choose to bring together a diverse group of women who enjoy reading and socializing. S.O.U.L. meets every fourth Saturday of the month to fellowship, have fun and discuss the book of the month.  We meet in restaurants and coffee shops. S.O.U.L. believes our book club will provide a social outlet for everyone involved.   We have been featured in Winston-Salem Journal, Forsyth Woman Magazine and Black Pearl Magazine Online.
